In Genesis Chapter 1, the first Creation Story informs the reader of the Creation of the world, and it also entails a sequence of a 7 day Creation. Does The Church teach that the world was created in 7 days?

According to the ruling of the Pontifical Biblical Commission of 1909 under St Pius X, 'yom' or 'day' can be taken in either the natural sense of a 24 hour day or as referring to a period of time in a general sense. So the Church does not have a definitive interpretation of that aspect of the passage.
