I don't like it when Hollywood tries to bring back a classic and does a bad job. They should leave the classics and try and be original (the music and video industry have proven that they cannot be original).
In light of this, anyone seen the new Karate Kid?

They really should have called this one "The Kung Fu Kid", because let's be honest: Karate isn't Kung Fu; Kung Fu isn't Karate.

You know he did all those moves by himself..! As in he didnt have any stunt/computer assistance.. Karate Kid 1 and 2 are the greatest, part 3 is pushing the excellence of one..it just makes it.. But this one even tho i havent watched it, i already have doubts..

Did someone just say that it's time for a favourite cheesy martial arts movie poll? Is that what just happened??

The Last Dragon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFzuxgivmQ8) kills it for cheesy martial arts cheesyness.
Game over.

Yeah that is very cheesy...
Went and watched Karate Kid last night.
Opinion: didn't like it. I was expecting more kick (both figurately and literally). Movie has superstition in it, magic and gives a good promotion to Chi energy in the martial arts world. It also shows a scene of young kids kissing and the movie has no punch.
Bring back the original Karate Kid series...

Dont waste my time with remakes, Christopher Nolan is the only director in Hollywood doing original movies at the moment.

I agree with Labban. I also thought that the karate kid's (Will Smith's son) acting was a bit try-hardish.

The fact that any of you still watch movies after Ben-Hur is very sad...that's the peak of brilliance ppl, it's been downhill from there:)
