An issue that has been troubling me throughout The Old Testament.

Who were the Nephilim/Giants. I am told that they are the descendants of Cain and due to their corruption and evils became 'monsterous' and large.
After the great flood wipes out all of humanity, Noah his 3 sons and their wives are the only humans left to repopulate the word.

How is it after the great flood that in later chapters -e.g. Numbers and Kings- Giants are mentioned once again.

Numbers 32. And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
33. We saw the Giants there. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

Are these different Giants??

I am confused.

Hi Daniel,

The Nephilim aren't the only giants. Consider how even these days some people are much larger than others. Even within Australia, I can remember when I first moved into the Southern Tablelands of NSW noticing how much taller many of the men were compared to what I was used to in Sydney.

When I stood next to Steve and Janet Ray for a photo after his talk a Trinity College on Thursday, a friend of mine joked later that I must be a Nephilim because of how I apparently towered over them both:

This is way off topic, I realise, but you're not familiar with Superboy?

... Or the black/red insignia Superman donned to mourn the loss of life at Kansas after Imperiex attacked during the Our Worlds at War storyline?

P.S. Yes, I'm a Superman nerd. :)
