When we talk about heaven, we imagine it to be perfect paradise and all Glory is given to God. I was just wondering why then when we pray some prayers to make reparation to the Immacualte Heart of Mary and The Sacred Heart of Jesus... do they suffer in heaven? Is there a pain they experience due to our sins?
God bless

Hi Tony,

There is only perfect joy in heaven. When we speak about God being "sad" or "offended" we only speak by way of analogy. God is perfect (and hence cannot be changed in any way whatsoever).

When someone commits a sin it is an offence against God's dignity, but does not change God's "mood".

Think about it like this: Say that the sunshine is God's dignity. When we do what is right, we are "playing in the sunshine", when we do what is wrong we are setting up an umbrella. The sun has not changed (and is incapable of change because of our actions), but we have moved in our situation in reference to it. Does that make sense?

This same principle applies by extension to all of the Blessed in heaven (since their glory is a share in God's own glory).

I hope that helps.
