As I am sure you the reader are well aware of, Catholicism is constantly slandered in the media time and time again. Constant mockery of Jesus Christ, His Priests, His Church and implying that every single Priest is a paedophile...

When is this blasphemy going to stop,
I know I sound radical here but when something happens, not only must we pray in our homes, but I think it is time for a bit of protest.

The most recent event was approximately 2 weeks ago, on The Comedy Chanel, a comedian on primetime television declared...
"Hey, Let's talk about how the Pope [Benedict XVI] likes to rape boys" and the whole audience laughed along with the host.
As horrific as this is, absolutely nothing was done. I am sure everyone might have heard about the recent South Park episode having to pull a clip from air because it depicted the prophet mohammed.
Im not saying we should threaten to burn down television stations but doesn't anyone agree that something must be done to show we will not tolerate such blasphemy.
For example; having a prayer vigil outside a tv station that shows a comedy festival with numerous comedians basing their entire material on mocking Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here's an unpopular but guaranteed to work solution:

1. Stop watching TV. (You'll survive, trust me.)

2. Instead of protesting outside the TV station, get on the phone to the companies that advertise on the offending channel and tell them that you won't buy their products until they come out and condemn the program for its blasphemies. Tell them an apology or a withdrawal of their advertisements is not enough. Tell them you want an explicit statement from them that the opposite of what was affirmed is true or you won't buy their products ever again. For example, in the case you cite in which Pope Benedict XVI is lied about, you want them to not only say "We do not support/condone the comments..." But instead to say something like "We affirm the Pope Benedict XVI is a man of great virtue and a true moral leader for our time etc."

They might write you off as a nut job, but if you only get a few thousand people show up to a protest, the media will handle that by simply refusing to report on you, and then you'll just be a nut job who got cold. Instead be a nut job who smacks them in their bottom line.

3. Pray always. David didn't beat Goliath on his own.

Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down, and cut off your head; and I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’S and he will give you into our hand." 1 Samuel 17:45-47

Excellent point Mr Obeid, and I don't watch tv anymore, it just seems that everytime I do, something like that is on.
Im gonna encourage people to get on the phone when something happens.

Thank you, God bless

And it works too...

Australian Playboy is now no longer in circulation because people went after the advertisers (instead of the magazine or its publisher).
