What is the churches teaching on cremation...Are we allowed to be cremated??? Or do certain circumstances influence e.g. money etc

"The Church earnestly recommends the pious custom of burial be retained; but it does not forbid cremation, unless this is chosen for reasons which are contrary to Christian teaching" (no. 1176). Code of Canon Law

Yes the church allows cremation, provided that it does not demonstrate a denial of faith in the resurrection of the body. Catholic catechism 2031
I dont think it allows scattering of ashes but, buriel of urn with ashes.

That's right. Scattering of ashes is not allowed. It must be buried in consecrated ground because the body was a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Code of Canon Law, canon 1176 §3:
The Church earnestly recommends that the pious custom of burying the bodies of the deceased be observed; nevertheless, the Church does not prohibit cremation unless it was chosen for reasons contrary to Christian doctrine.

Look at the language:
The Church earnestly recommends ... the pious custom of burying the bodies of the deceased
versus
nevertheless, the Church does not prohibit cremation
It isn't hard to see where the Church's heart lies on this issue.
